Abstract: thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials have attracted much attention due to their high exciton utilization. With the help of thermal energy, the lowest excited triplet exciton can overcome the energy barrier and reach the lowest excited singlet state. TADF materials have been widely used in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and time-resolved biological imaging applications. This report will focus on the molecular design and synthesis of thermally activated delay fluorescent materials and their applications in organic light-emitting devices and biological imaging, and analyze the opportunities and challenges in the future development.
